I'm now at KL for a one day stay to settle my college stuff so tonight I went for dinner at our so-called local proud franchise store, Secret Recipe at Taman Melati with my heng dai, Juno. I'm not quite a cake lover, I don't eat 99% out of hundreds and hundreds types of cakes I've ever seen, no, not even on my birthday and this includes those from Secret Recipe (I've tried those though). But I do not deny that they serve the best cheese cake in town.

I won't be talking about the cakes today to avoid flames from cake lovers especially girls. But why? Why a cheese cake specialist franchise store like Secret Recipe got "gatal" and start selling main courses like rice, noodles and steak? To be honest, they really sucked on those.

Stewed Aussie Beef Steak (Picture from angelflyz)

Okay, lets get started. I ordered this Stewed Aussie Beef Steak which cost rm18 because it's stated as "must try" on the menu and it looked like its really really delicious (I know everything on every menu have the same effect, don't remind me about my stupidness). The meal is served like, 7-8 minutes after the order was placed. What that means? Pre-cooked. Well okay it still look great so I had a bite. It tasted like this

Yup, a beef that feels and taste like braised pork. I paid RM18 for braised pork and garnishes which I can easily get at RM4 at any local hawker centres, WTF. I bet you won't even realise the sauce was actually black pepper sauce if it wasn't stated there.

Quoting angelflyz "The beef steak was also surprisingly good. At RM18, the dish comes with a thick slice of beef, complete with fats which made EC very, very happy. The meat was not hard to cut as it is flaky after some stewing. The sauce (light black peppery), although simple, goes well with the beef". No offence, I just couldn't agree with this, maybe it's branch problem? I don't know.

Cordon Bleu

Juno ordered a Cordon Bleu (fried chicken with cheese) and a piece of the famous Chocolate Indulgence. I've heard from alot of people that Cordon Bleu at Secret Reciple is worth a try, but in front of Juno this super picky "sik ga", it's just a piece of shyt. After he almost finished the whole thing, he said "No taste one".

Pan Fried Dory with Lobster Sauce

I ordered the Pan Fried Dory with Lobster Sauce the last time I went there before today. The dory, feels really cheap but worst of all, the sauce sucks alot. I meant it.

After the meal Juno said "I finally feel full already," meaning mamak stall meals is never sufficient for him, he also said that he need 1.5 meals to be really satisfied. In his definition, the Cordon Bleu = 1, and the Chocolate Indulgence was the other .5. What about 2 sets of mamak meals? Juno: "That's 1+1=2, and I'll vomit". I then asked him if hot noodle cup = 1 meal? He replied no, 1 cup = 1/4 meal and 4 cups might actually satisfied him. Just another piece of LOL.

Back to the topic, Secret Recipe should stick to their cakes, because there ain't any "secret recipes" added in their main meals, seriously. But I think their Mushroom soup and Garden Salad is worth a try (unless Secret Recipe grow their own lettuces/cucumbers/tomatoes/onions and make their own thousand island dressing, otherwise I think the credits should go to the farmers instead) :) Peace, don't flame.

Have you guys ever dreamt that you can have anything you want? For free? I bet you did, quite a while ago I actually had this opportunity in the Facebook game Pet Society where I was so wealthy back then I can grab whatever I want in the Luxurious store for my "pet" until Playfish (The company that runs Pet Society) decided to spoil our fun and banned me recently. Fine I'm not going to blog about that, but what you would like to have if you got the money? LV Gucci Prada's? Hey girls, be logical! ;) I'm here today to share what I wanted, not too dificult to guess, just like normal guys.

The 1st C - Connection

I am so frustrated because of the uber slow speed of Streamyx and I seriously need a new connection. And P1 Wimax will be my choice, if you ask me. As I've mentioned earlier in my blog post "Slow internet?", the speed is really awesome. You get 24XX kbps download speed for a 2.4mb package, you get more than you pay? Cool right?

Price: RM150 Installation, RM 99 per month for 1.2Mb line

The 2nd C - Camera

The Sony Cybershot T-Series DSC-T700/N. This is one good looking camera that offers really good specs for amateur like us. I'm not a fan of artistic photographs and I don't camwhore, but I like to take pictures with friends, of friends, to keep every happy moment we had together, and a good camera is what I need!

Specs:
  • 4GB Internal Memory
  • 10.1 Mega Pixels with Super HAD CCD
  • Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens with 4x Optical Zoom
  • 3.5" Full Wide Touch Screen LCD
  • BIONZ Image Processing Engine
  • Double “Anti-blur” Solution: Optical SteadyShot and ISO 3200 High Sensitivity
  • Improved Face Detection Technology for Children and Adults
  • Smile Shutter
  • Intelligent Scene Recognition
  • Photo Album & Scrapbook
  • HD Slide Show with Select Music Playback
Price: RM1,500

The 3rd C - Cell Phone

My top priority in my list now - Apple iPhone 3G, ROFL. Okay don't flame me, it's just a dream. Really one expensive sexy babe out there! Like most of Apple product, stylish, cute, sexy, both exterior and the interior. Excellent performance, no-lagging issues. I can watch drama's with it, imagine that, woohoo! Unfortunately I don't own one of these. Perhaps the only turn down would be poor camera but hey, thats why camera is in my wishlist too right? But no doubt, you can get better phones at the cost but who cares, It is the Apple iPhone 3G we are talking about here!

Price: RM2,500

The 4th C - Computer

Not that I'm not satisfied to my Dell laptop now but if I'm moving to KL I would like a desktop. Perhaps a quadcore processor? *saliva* I always wanted those high-end gaming desktop that might cost RM10k and above for the whole set. What a monster, GG. If that's not posible, a Sony VAIO laptop ain't that bad either :P

Price: Super Desktop RM10,000?
Sony VAIO Laptop RM5,000

The 5th C - Car

Currently I'm driving a little Mira (Kancil), and before this I was driving my Hyundai Matrix. Notice the difference? My friend Ms. Cheng laughed for 30minutes at me when I went to fetch her with the "cute" Kancil for the first time. What's so funny? Damn I don't like the Kancil, I miss Matrix but oh well. I'm not talking about dream cars like Sport cars, Ferrari, Merz etc. Lets talk about something you might actually afford to buy in the future (without your lottery prices). To be honest Mini cooper looks really cool to me but then I don't wanna be too "cute" again so my choice would be - Honda Civic.

Price: RM110,000+

Just what any ordinary guys want, don't flame ;) And my birthday is at November if you wanna get me presents. I'm kind and I don't want you to take 20 years and failed to buy a good present so just choose from above. Ciao ^_^v

The South Korea government had decided to invest approximately $24.6 billions USD and will have a 1gbps broadband connection in most (if not all) main cities in Korea, and promised at least 100mbps for rural area and towns by year 2012. How fast is 1gbps? Imagine a full 2 hours DVD quality movie downloaded in 15 seconds? Now you got it.

Back in Malaysia, still, our main broadband provider, TM net, which ironically means Telekom Malaysia Not Enough Technology, have their very own and proud, Streamyx broadband. Funniest of all they are still trying to promote their "combo package" with pictures of burgers and sodas, joke.

Streamyx = Burger set?

Lets see what they got. RM168 per month for a 4mb line, only in Cyber Jaya? You must be kidding me. Think that its acceptable? Think again. I've gone through some of the feedback and reviews from 4mb users. They have a maximum speed of 1.7mb-2mb download speed on speedtest.net. Less than 50% efficiency? Give me a break. Many dudes out there who are lame enough to trust TM Net and subscribed the 4mb line quickly find themselves in a disconnection frenzy and unstable speed e.g one moment you can surf the net and 30 seconds later your msn spams "The following message could not be delivered to all recipients" and your web browsers fail to connect to Google.

Despite the speed, their service is however, fast. Their man usually arrive at your place the next day you rang them up, but their superb agility ends here. They will normally blame the problems on "old cables", or tell you that he will go back and check the ports, and left you waiting for a solution until you decided to call them again. Of course, they are strong in some aspects. For example, their skin is so thick that after 3278381273812 complains by customers, they never pay afford to improve.

Why is this happening? Because they had complete monopoly in the business. Users must use their service, even it sucks, because it's better than nothing. Their main competitors, Celcom / Jaring / Maxis broadband never fail to put you on a disconnection frenzy, anytime, anywhere.

But no longer. I just found that this new provider, P1 Wimax which provides a 400kbps/1.2mbps/2.4mbps broadband connection with a price of RM40/99/199 (If not mistaken). So far friends and users thinks that P1 is a much better provider compared to Streamyx in terms of Stability - Same fast speed throughout the day. However for some areas, they are inconsistent and might have some minor problems like disconnections.

Speedtest.net result for 2.4mb line
Price list

Another good addition to their stability would be worthy price. Free modem, and 15 days trial, free delivery. That means nothing to lose as you can always take the trial before you actually subscribe. A minimum of 24 months subscription is however, not good but acceptable. But we never know, what if more and more users subscribes to P1 Wimax and they do not increase their bandwidth? Goodbye fast speed.

Our neighbour, Singapore have a 8mb broadband, and 10mb in Australia. Compared to us, where most Malaysians are having 512kbps - 1mbps internet, sadly. Exactly how far behind is Malaysia, compared to even better countries like Korea and Japan? I'd say at least 20 years, to be honest. If the government are too busy with Politic-Dramas and do not want to improve our facilities, and we do not have a choice, always try to get the best.

P/S:
I know they are like 38921839128 similar articles in 12918391 random blogs,
But this is my own thoughts.
Yes I wrote the whole thing myself.
And no, I don't work for P1 Wimax

I actually planned to cook porridge today so since I have an appointment with 1 Handsome + 1 Pretty for breakfast at 7.15am so I decide to buy pork at the pasar to cook. Then when I got home I marinated the pork and put inside the porridge which I cooked during midnight with the almighty rice cooker. Then I throw everything into the Pot and turn on the fire, went to living room and watch tv.

Then something went really wrong when I started to smell this "hangus" smell then I rushed into the kitchen, by that time I already know too late. :( I guess I was overconfidence because I cooked the same thing last week and it tasted really nice.

Pai Guat in the porridge

So I tried to take out the pork see whether can eat or not. Ate a little bit then throw everything because I was really full after the breakfast, so waste! Porridge 100% certified, hangus-ed.

Look OK but smell terrible

So after all this shit nothing I can do so I decide to clean up but things just won't go according to my plan today and I wonder what's wrong!

Walao tap open already, no water one?!

Okay later I remembered that my mum told me there will be no water supply this few days before she left for KL. W-T-F.

It's only 9.20am now and I dont know how many shits like these are waiting for me later, there are unclean plates, knifes, pots in the kitchen, and no water supply. Not much left in the bathroom and I have absolutely no idea how to clean up the mess so far, without water.

Call me Mr. No Luck :( what an unlucky day (so far)

Saturday, 8 March 2009

Its already like 2 months since I live alone in my hometown after my family move to KL. I kinda enjoyed it at the same time bored. Yea, you get freedom for the price of loneliness. Okay I admit I am free even if I stay with my family, but still not quite the same.

My brother is returning to the "home sweet home" after 3 months in the "camp bitter camp" National Service and will stay with me for quite a while. So my individual Streamyx line goes bye bye. Duh, the line was never superb good anyway.

I'm going to KL for a day or so next Thursday so if you guys out there wanna date me, here comes the chance! ;)

Its the "White Day" or Japanese version of St.Valentine's day next Saturday, 14th March. Where there will have a holiday in Japan for couples to date each other and single like me to stay at home to cry in their own blanket. So happy and sweet White day for all the couples and for those without someone who loved you, someday it will be your turn right? (Of course I'm trying to tell myself too)

Ciao.

Thought of never going to do another "I started a new blog post"
But oh well after taking sometime to customize the blog my "mood" to write went off,
and still I need to write something to test out the new blog so here is it.

Loved the blog style of Wretch but too troublesome to login there and such so Blogger it is.
Will try to get a banner up soon when I have ideas.
I will write in both English and Chinese,
I guess this style suits me more and I can write just what I intended to.

So here I come, and the title of the post? Yep I know what are you thinking.
"Oh hell yeah yet another random blog"
